Maryland. We just fell in love with the open spaces, trails, and community. The same things that drew my sister here. Q: What do you love about this community and specifically the Berkeley Park area? A: What I love about Tehaleh in general is just how safe we feel here. It reminds me and my husband so much of the places we grew up as kids. We are so happy to give that same experience to our children. What I love about BP is that almost everyone has a fun-loving spirit. We all know how to find the fun in life. Q: How did the porch crawls and ladies nights come to be? A: The ladies nights came out of the Ladies of Berkeley Park group on FB that some of the girls started (Morgan Riverman, Stacie Wallace). We were just really looking for ways to connect to each other, as moms, as wives, as women and so as a result we started to say "let's make time to be together". About once a month-ish we plan an activity that any lady in BP can attend (we've done movies, game nights, board and brush, paint nights, poker nights) and we just do a little girl time. But the porch crawls are kind of their own thing and I wish I can take credit for any of it but I can't. Liz Johnson did the first crawl in "upper Tehaleh" and then Stacie Wallace said "we should do one" and it just kicked off this really fun social event where we go house to house drinking and eating and socializing. We just had our third crawl in under a year this past Memorial Day. We are planning another for around Labor Day I think. Q: What do you find unique/inspiring/ entertaining about these women? A: There is a non-judgmental, unwavering support for each other. We all know everyone is in a different set of circumstances and I see these women step up to the plate to help their neighbors time and time again without question and without regard for their own situations. In the world we live in today it's rare to find that much kindness in a single place. I'm grateful and humbled by it.
