Archie McPhees To describe Archie McPhees as unique would be an understatement. This is a novelty store that actually has some quirk to it. Open since 1983 it is a one stop shop for party supplies, crafts, costumes, miniatures and the weirdest collection of toys and candy that you've ever seen. Novelty store staples such as lobster hands, whoopie cushions, or oversized glasses can be found but also surprising items as well like old hardware nuts and bolts, padding, or a transmission tower beacon. Plan to spend some time here at this staple of Seattle weirdness—you can get everything you never knew you wanted or needed. Archie McPhee S H O P P I N G Like its neighbor Fremont, Wallingford is a Mecca for carefully refurbished character buildings, such as the old Interlake School, which is now home to a tasteful assortment of stores and residences. Meander down the street and check out some of the areas unique shops.
