A s the holidays approach we often look forward to the onslaught of food and festivities, the anticipation to experience all the wonders and abundance that this time of year brings. The blessings of family and friends, gifts and gab, decor and decadence. But somehow this year feels different, heavier than holidays of the past, as we collectively as a nation, begin to see the light at the end of a dark tunnel. Thoughts of those that have and are still suffering from the natural disasters that have struck so many parts of our country, of the people whose faces and stories linger in the corners of our minds and for many of them they continue to move through the rubble, water and ash. It would not be a lifestyle magazine celebrating the holidays without well... celebration, but we do pause and reflect and in fact, offer tips on how to help those who this year are less fortunate than us and who are still struggling. So, with that I wish you the very happiest of holidays—let us rejoice at our good fortune and sheer luck and let us pause to remember and help those who are in need. As Ronald Reagan so eloquently said, "we can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone." Wishing you and your family the very best of the holidays.
