Strong or frothy take on colorful and sweet, anyway you go
traditional Mexican beverages are the life of the party.
• Line the bar cart with multi-colored Jarritos. The bottle
has an old-school feel, and the rainbow hues serve as
their own type of décor.
• Of course margaritas are one of the expected
beverages at a Cinco de Mayo gathering (see our
recipes in this issue) but what about mixing it up
a bit and offering margarita popsicles as well?
Just another way to imbibe.
• Mexican sangria is similar to the fruit and wine
of Spanish sangria, but it has a higher alcohol
content. The high alcohol content makes this
drink a great pairing with spicy food, like hot
salsa. This fruity concoction is simple to make
- try this recipe for a dark, brandy infused
libation.
Decor
For a Cinco de Mayo celebration you simply can't have too
many bright colors. Ruby red, bright yellow, burnt orange and
vibrant green will saturate your space with the party vibe.
Throw in some hot pink and magenta for a more feminine feel.
You'll basically want to be looking at the colors of a sombrero
or piñata and if you are you'll know you are on the right track.
