Who doesn't love a picnic?
They're fun any time of year, but
Picnic Month is a great excuse
to celebrate and be creative.
While the classic picnic foods,
fried chicken and potato salad,
will always remain favorites,
there are lots of great themes
to be explored. An Italian theme
could include cold pasta salad,
cheese and cold cuts, and a
bottle of wine or Italian soda
to wash it all down. An Asian
theme could be fun, or try
Greek, with some feta cheese,
olives, and baklava for dessert.
The possibilities are limitless!
These days, there are lots of
handy new cooling devices for
food and/or beverages. But the
ultimate picnic fantasy is still
of a traditional wicker basket
lined with a checked cloth, and
filled with fresh bread, cheese,
fruit and a bottle of fine wine.
That's picnic perfection!
