nywhere you are in Seattle,
you'll find birthday parties for
the good ole U.S.A. And Se-
attle does it up right - from huge fire-
works displays to small-town parades
and picnics you will find celebrations
of every kind and sort.
A long time Seattle favorite are the
fireworks at Gas Works Park. The popu-
lar 4th of July venue welcomes enough
people to fill almost every square inch
of its 20.5 acres. This spectacular show
utilizes the breathtaking view of down-
town Seattle as its backdrop, while the
pyrotechnical display is magically re-
flected on the waters of Lake Union.
Other family-friendly activities include
musical performances, contests, races,
food booths and beer gardens. Festivi-
ties begin at Noon at Gas Works Park,
with a huge fireworks extravaganza at
10:15 PM over Lake Union.
Touted as the Eastside's largest, the
Bellevue Family 4th in Bellevue Down-
town Park offers music, kids enter-
tainment, food booths, a Community
Spotlight Pavillion and a really nice
fireworks display at 10 PM. Festival
hours are from 2 PM - 10:30 PM.
But don't limit your research to just
these two - explore other areas that
may fit your patriotic agenda as well.
