Canlis Restaurant
Seattle's fine dining landmark for more than 61 years;
faultless service, impeccable cuisine and one of the
world's most celebrated wine cellars. In this hidden
treasure (it's almost exclusive just by its' hidden lo-
cation) you will find men in sports jackets or suits
- dress code attire unites both servers and diners.
The Roland Terry–designed building is a mid-century-
modern dream of clean lines and striking natural
elements, including a dark wood and stone interior.
Windows line the entire east-facing side of the res-
taurant, offering unmatched views of Lake Union and
the Cascades. At night, tiny lights hidden in the ceil-
ing mirror the twinkling lights of the city. Canlis is
that once in a lifetime meal for most and the ideal
place to make memories.
Menchies
Menchies is the call of the wild to school age kids on a hot day.
This frozen Yogurt chain with more than 350 stores nationwide
snagged an ideal location on Queen Anne Ave. After school it is
shoulder to shoulder in this corner frozen Yogurt spot. Here you
can sample before you commit to that tub large tub of exotic
flavored fro yo. Be sure to leave room for the more than 30 avail-
able toppings, from gummie worms, Reeses Peanut butter Cups,
crushed Butterfingers, Nerds, Cherries, Kiwi, Strawberries, Pineap-
ples and Peaches to toppings such as Carmel, Marshmallow and of
course Hot Fudge. Take note - frozen yogurt prices are dependent on
weight but often the toothless smiles of 6 year olds are worth it.
