farmers markets on a regular basis. That's how the love affair began. During the 2010 farmers market season, she began to take a few photos with her iPhone began talking to the farmers and farm interns that she met. "I became a better cook by talking to them about how they prepared their vegetables and was inspired by their incredible dedication and hard work. It may seem cliché to say, but wanting to know the people who grew my food inspired it all." Mulkern says. " My photography has now evolved to occasionally involve a 'real' camera but the subjects remain the same: farmers, farms, and their beautiful food." Through "The Female Farmer Project" you will meet strong, driven women with a passion for farming. Women such as Christina Miller who along with her husband and three sons started Green Bow Farm in 2012. They rotationally graze poultry, sheep, and cattle on 23 acres in Kittitas Valley, Washington. In addition to pasture raised eggs and grass-fed meats they produce fiber products and rich compost that helps them grow fruits and vegetables for their family and hopefully added value foods to sell at farmers markets in the future.
