Preparation is key here. This one simple step will save you much frustration - it takes a little extra time yes, but it is worth it. Here are a few tips: • After you've traced your frame shaped onto the butcher paper cut them out. • Lay them on the floor to find the desired arrangement. There are many ways to go with this - a sort of haphazard fly by the seat of your pants way where you plan as you go, or the more organized way by planning your collage even before getting your art and frames. Here are some layout ideas if you are of the latter. • Tape each one onto the wall using blue painters tape to avoid taking the paint off when you remove the adhesive. • This is the time to move things around until it's just right. once you have collaged the cutouts to your liking, install the hangers over the cutouts and remove each cutout as you replace with the actual frame. And there you have it – how to create your own gallery wall. • Frames should hang at eyelevel or around 5 feet. If you're exceptionally tall or have very high ceilings, you can hang them a tad higher. • Nail each one into place over the paper. • Afterwards, remove the paper (leaving the nail in place). It's so much easier than nailing that first one in and then realizing it's not quite what you wanted.
