say that Watson Kennedy Fine Living is a feast for the eyes would be an understatement of the grandest scale. Every corner of this fine home and accessories boutique is filled with treasures - mother of pearl buttons resting in a corked topped apothecary jar - yes please! Compass key chains, vintage hotel silver from England, hand soaps and body butters from Scotland, candles, bowls, and coffee table books, all displayed in the most beautiful and stylish manner. Since opening the doors in 1998, owner Ted Kennedy Watson has built a strong following and has steadily expanded to open another store in 2001 on First Ave. Ted attributes his success to word of mouth and his dedication to providing various price points for every shopper. We caught up with Ted and asked a few burning questions of the style maven: Tips and tricks for setting an interesting dining table. Use things from your travels. add shells from the beach from your trip to Mexico or vintage bottles you picked up at the flea markets in Paris. They are great conversation starters. Suggestions for creating meaningful tabletop display? always be on the lookout. Mix and match things-those are the tables that always catch my eye. Trends you see in decor/design for 2015? I am so not a trend guy, but I do think home and entertaining are at the top of the list for things folks are spending time, effort and money on. Ted recently photographed and wrote about life's little graces in his book "Style and Simplicity," A (art and Adirondack chairs) to Z (zinnias). In it Ted gives a cornucopia of style tips, recipes and offers so much eye candy with his photographs that you will want to crawl right into that well curated life. The book topped Amazon's list of interior-design books right out of the gate and is in its second printing. If you are in the area, a stop into Watson Kennedy will be one to remember. If you can't make the sojourn to Seattle fret not, Watson Kennedy now offers on-line shopping. www.watsonkennedy.com Style and Simplicity link to book on Amazon. watson kennedy Fine Home shop 1022 1st Ave. Seattle, 98104 (206) 652-8350 watson kennedy Fine Living 86 Pine Street (Pike Place Market) Seattle, 98101 (206) 443-6281 u u u
