ENDOLYNE JOE'S Part of the Chow Foods chain, this eatery dishes up updated classics for breakfast lunch and dinner, like Chimichurri Pork Tenderloin and Baked Mac & Cheese with Maytag blue cheese, cheddar, herbs, and breadcrumbs. An additional rotating menu takes diners around the world, stopping currently in Hawaii (Ahi Poke, Huli Huli Chicken, Coconut Sticky Rice.) Up the hill from the Fauntleroy ferry and on the Rapid Ride C line. 9261 45th Avenue SW, chowfoods.com/endolyne-joes. THE WAX BAR The icy white Eurpoean décor might remind you of Scandinavia circa 1975, but The Wax Bar lives today on a crowded corner just off the West Seattle Bridge. And they do mean bar: They claim to be the only waxers in town with a liquor license. The Wax Bar's estheticians pamper you with facials (including ones for your back and cheeks—yes, those cheeks), lash tints, skin lighten- ing, and of course, waxes for everywhere and anywhere. Pick up soothing aftercare and beauty products and gifts from Dermalogica, Butter London, Lux, and others. Watch their social media (or call and ask) for specials like hap- py hour deals on their Brazillian services. A Corona or a Lindeman's Framboise can only make the pain better.... right? 4462 37th Ave SW, thewaxbarseattle.com. Spend an afternoon or evening exploring these unique West Seattle hot spots FLEURT Forget sleepy flower shops filled with mums and teddy bears. Instead stop by the florist named Best in Seattle by Seattle Magazine in 2012. Fleurt offers modern arrangements and long lasting centerpieces that you'll want to buy for yourself as well as your mom. Pick up one of their succulent arrangements in a rustic wood container or their signature white birch bark box, made with live moss and other texturizing elements. Their terrariums nestle in glass vessels of all sizes, even in a necklace. Buy your supplies there and make a terrari- um at home or join one of owner Samantha Crowley's DIY classes to create with a little guidance. Fleurt's arrangements fall on the spendy side ($85 and up), but these creations are so gorgeous, many Seattle flower lovers eagerly pay for the long lasting eye candy. 4536 California Avenue SW, fleurtseattle.com. LOCOL BARLEY AND VINE Get a little hip on unhip-and-busy 35th Avenue SW: head to Locol Barley and Vine for an urban happy hour or late night dinner. Live music of all kinds (jazz, acoustic, even soul) and upscale bar noshes will distract you till midnight (2am on weekends) in a city not known for its late-night night life. The short, veg-friendly food menu offers snacks (Doolie's East African Salsa & Crostini), soups (Curried Butternut Squash with coconut milk and Kaffir lime), salads, sandwiches (Porcini Dijon Field Roast Burger), and a couple desserts. If brewskis are your thing try the Left Hand Milk Stout, Almanac Farm to Barrel Sour Beer, or the Sound "Humulo Nimbus" DBL IPA. Cozy enough for a gals night, cool enough to impress your first date. locolseattle.com.
