Nicki I n years past I have always looked forward to fall, it is my favorite time of year. The crisp air, the cozy sweaters and a slower pace from the busy summer of trips, visitors and yardcare. Of course, this year has been different. No better or worse really, just different. I find that with things in life that change you—death, birth, a reawkening, a realization, that what you make of it is largely determined largely by your attitude. I suspect I will look back on this time and know that while difficult and different I have made the "most" of it. When COVID first began, altering our realities and day to day lives, it was a task to wear masks and social distance, now it has become my norm and I have to say that this heightened sense of space has been welcome. Walks outside, focused time with household members and dogs, and learning a few new skills. While it has also been stressful in the not knowing, distance from other members of my family, and of course, the economic impact. One of the many reasons I so enjoy producing this magazine, is the time spent researching current topics on home, decor and of course, real estate, and sharing them with the readers. It is an escape (at this time especially) when there seems to be nowhere to go. Nowhere to 'escape' to. I hope that you are able to hunker down in a quiet corner and relax for a moment while reading this magazine full of fun tidbits such as fall cocktails and essential oils for stress and sleep. Take some small joy in escaping—if only for a moment. Nicki Callahan, Property Manager Windermere Property Management
