Nicki A s many of us continue to stay home during this unprecedented health crisis, it is no wonder that as we look around we are seeing some impressive gardens and lawns. Numerous studies have shown the mental and physical benefits of spending time in nature, but for some people, it took a pandemic and stay-at-home orders for that desire to spend more time outdoors to feel like a necessity. In this issue we focus on just that—spending time outdoors byway of gardening. Specifically, we'll touch on container gardening, an easy and inexpensive way to fill your porch or patio with colors of the season. For the kiddos who may be extra bored as they undoubtedly spend their summers more isolated than in the past, mental health comes into play. With the cancellations of all in-person activities—from Girl Scouts to piano lessons, to gymnastics, we offer a close look into online art courses for every age. A way to stay safe, yet self-expressive and engaged during these summer months. Of course summer travel also looks different in 2020. The coronavirus pandemic all but stopped leisure travel in the United States for much of the spring, and with summer upon us, many Americans are still unsure what a vacation is supposed to look like this year. People are opting to stick closer to home see the sites, the greatest share of travelers—683 million—will take to the road to satisfy their wanderlust. In this unique issue we'll offer some road trip tips to plan your close to home vacay. Many may be wondering about the specifics of renting during COVID so we put together a sort of FAQ to illuminate some of the changes/ precautions that the real estate industry as a whole is working through in order to protect the general public yet still do our essential jobs.
