O
ver the past several weeks the idea of 'home' has
taken on new meaning. The onset of COVID-19
has disrupted modern society on a scale that most living
people have never witnessed. The Stay Home orders that
were implemented on March 23rd for Washington state
have all but sequestered most of us to a space that during
"normal" times we might have not thought a whole lot
about. What was once a place to sleep and gather has now
become a haven of safety, a gathering of some (but not
all) of those people we love, and a containment vessel for
the anxiety and stress that many are feeling. This brick and
mortar structure has taken on a life of its own as it protects ours. A touchstone
of sorts of our lives at this time. I believe it has solidified the true essence of
what a home should be - ideally a place of calm, a shelter in which to trust with
safety and emotions and yet the profound fact of the matter is that it is also an
investment.
In this issue we strive to offer a bit of reprieve from the realities of the world
right now. Come with us as we look at Spring Cheer (luckily we have great
weather to enjoy the outdoor and all of the spring colors abound), we'll also
touch on that tricky balancing act of wanting to buy a new home while needing
to sell your current home, and we button it up with a salute to the Earth, a
place we all call home.
Wishing you all the best,!
