I opted to not go with the taller cabinets for the additional cost and I have no regrets there. While I am very happy with the large walk-in pantry, not so much with the wired shelving throughout the house. Small items in the pantry fall through the openings and overall I just don't like the look of it. But honestly, I can't complain about the abundance of space and it's so nice to have built up a little reserve of peanut butter for a rainy day. One of the biggest changes that I made in the kitchen after the purchase was the addition of the wooden chandeliers over the island. While the can lighting that the builders installed has no rhyme or reason in the placement, the chandeliers act as an anchor and pull the space together, the crazy placement of the can lighting is now almost invisible to me. BUT IS IT REALLY A BARN DOOR OR JUST A DOOR ON RAILS? When I visited the Lakeview model another bucket list item was presented to me—a barn door! Oh, how I have longed for a barn door.
