woods floors are a recipe for constant
cleaning. Lesson learned the hard way.
I had requested the hardwood flooring
throughout the entire house, but was told
that the builder could not do that. Even
as an upgrade? Nope. Although I was told
that I could, of course, rip out the brand
new carpet and install the floors after the
purchase was complete—what a waste it
seemed and not nearly as convenient as
having it done while they were building the
home. This seems to have been the
standard response to most of my special
requests. I guess I thought I was moving
into a custom home, when really they
throw these houses up so fast that folks
are lucky to even choose their finishes, I
came to find out. I did opt for the mid-
range carpet with stain guard which I will
pat myself on the back for now.
