A s the days get shorter and the nights get colder I like to venture out with the dogs and take in the colorful leaves that are the epitome of a Pacific Northwest autumn. Sure, hiking secluded trails is great, but what I really enjoy are urban hikes; exploring various neighborhoods in-between showings or appointments. Just a spur of the moment walk about. This informs me of areas that I might not necessarily be familiar with, and (being a bit of a snoop) I love to see what people have done in their yards. What is growing now, what makes sense to plant in different spaces, etc. One such walkabout that is always fun is exploring the Leschi area — waterfront coupled with vibrant leaves is always a crowd pleaser and at Leschi park you get both. In this issue we'll explore this quaint neighborhood named after Chief of the Nisqually nation, and all it has to offer. We'll also talk earnestly about the importance of earnest money when planning for a home purchase, and share some spooky recipes for Halloween cookies. Of course current rental listings and rental and sales market stats wil round it out as always. So, curl up with a warm cup of apple cider, a cozy throw and dive into the October issue of Renter's Maison. Nicki Nicki Callahan, Property Manager Windermere Property Management
