W
oodinville is often called the heart
of Western Washington wine country.
Sip your way through over a hundred win-
eries and tasting rooms, plus fourteen mi-
crobreweries, distilleries, and cideries. You'll
find wine events year-round. Check out the
annual Woodinville Wine Boot Camp in
early summer which takes you behind the
vats with seminars, tours, master somme-
liers, and tastings.
Columbia Winery is a good place to start
your wine tasting journey. This award-win-
ning winery draws fruit from the Colum-
bia Valley for their Chardonnay Cabernet
Sauvignon, Merlot, and red blends. Visit
for tastings, live music. If you come hun-
gry, they'll also feed you small plates on
Foodie Fridays. Columbia also hosts a wine
club and has event space for meetings and
weddings.
Novelty Hill Januik has won awards not just
for wine, but for its sleek and modern archi-
tecture and landscape design. Visit Friday
through Sunday for a seasonal pizza featur-
ing ingredients from Oxbow Farm nearby
and from NHJ's onsite garden.
