Nicki C ome September it's hard to know what to long for—the neverending summer of fun and frolic, or for sweater weather and warm cups of coffee on a chilly morning. Looking forward while appreciating the past. I suppose that is the trick of life in many ways as well. September always marks that month for me. I hang onto the past of a fun-filled summer spent outside with the dogs, on adventures both near to home and afar. The hazy days of summer, eating fresh farmers market produce, talking long walks at dusk, and the soothing sound of sprinklers in the early morning hours. But on the other hand, I long to get back to structure as well. With the kiddo in school and on a schedule it allows me to also fall into more of a rhythm and knowing what to expect and when. For me this sort of predictability works with my personality. But it always does seem I am giving something up (carefree summer days) to settle into this suitable structure. In this issue we'll explore the last glimmer of the summer staple— Farmers Markets. What to buy when, makes all the difference in the end product. We'll also explore one of the best places to "fall into" by way of Woodinville; the wine country of King County. Autumn brings the most important event of the year for wine producers and enthusiasts in Washington: crush. Crush is the busiest, most exciting season for any winery as grapes are harvested from the vineyard and brought to the winery where the winemaking begins. Though Washington grapes are almost all grown east of the Cascades, 52 Washington wineries bring their annual harvest to Woodinville for crush. Learn more about this quaint community and even plan a day trip to see the sites during this festive season of fall. Wishing you glorious, fun filled days as we say a fond farewell to summer and a welcome to fall in all its colorful wonder. Nicki Callahan, Property Manager Windermere Property Management
