MEG'S TIPS FOR EASY CHEESE BOARD ELEVATION
T
he garnish! It's so easy. Putting
a sprig of rosemary or lavender
flowers on, let's say, a couple
cheeses. These are things that people
have in their backyard. I think it makes
the dish at hand look lovely and rustic. I
always like to add a little whimsy. Here
are a few of my favorite, easy add-ons:
• Mint!
• Pomegranate seeds are a good one. It
photographs really nicely!
• Add in some color: not only do fruits
and veggies bring color to a board, your
guests will appreciate the vibrancy.
• Regional flavors should be reflected in
the garnish. If I'm doing something a bit
more Italian, I know that basil is going to
complement the ingredients really well.
• Think about the shapes on your boards.
For example, if you have a couple of
round ramekins, fan some of your other
ingredients in concentric patterns.
