A petite, firecracker of a gal, with long black hair and crimson lips Karee uses her office space for... quilting. "I am a quilter in the non-traditional sense. I love the idea of taking a craft that flourished in the mid 19th century and adding a modern twist. I started quilt- ing 4 years ago and am 100% self taught. I have never taken a class or had someone show me, I learned by watching online videos and reading books. These are not your grandmoth- ers quilts," she says. Originally imagined by the builder as a flex space, Karee and her husband started out sharing the room as an of- fice, they added tall black French doors and each took a side of the room, then slowly piece by piece it turned into Karee's realm as her assortment of baubles began taking over. It's a space unique to her vision, a sort of Gothic Martha Stewart vibe infused with trea- sures collected over the years.
