1. UPDATE YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM If your smartphone is running slower than usual, then your operating system (or OS) might not be up-to-date. Having the latest version of iOS or Android on your phone is the best way to ensure it works at its zippiest. Just make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and backed up before you update your phone's software, and make sure that your phone can handle it. Newer operating systems might not be optimized for older or lower-cost phones. Here are seven ps that can help you organize your virtual and real environments. 2. DELETE APPS AND TEXTS You probably have way too many apps on your smartphone. We all download apps without even thinking about it. After some testing we realize they are no good, and it's normal to simply forget about these appls and leave them roaming around. Get rid of them. They take up space and are often running in the background which depletes your battery life. Think about deleting those 5 year old texts with directions for the restaurant that you went to once. Those take up space and will slow your phone as well. For Android users, there's 1Tap Cleaner, an app that earns its name. The app gathers Speed up your smartphone that data in one place, letting you decide what to keep. Most of us are surprised how many outdated messages and URLs get archived, a data stream that we will probably never refer to again. Then again, you do want to make sure irreplaceable bits (landmark texts, unsaved photos) survive the deep clean. iPhones don't have an equivalent app to 1Tap Cleaner, so you'll have to remove the surplus manually. Luckily, iPhone makes it pretty easy. Click here for the steps to clean up your iOS tracks and also, 1Tap Cleaner.
