W hether you are a vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian or "weekend vegetarian" going veggie-friendly can be good for both your physical and mental health, cites Science Daily. A few of the many benefits of this lifestyle include lower blood pressure, better heart health and even lower rates of cancer. Sure, staying away from bacon and steak can be a struggle, but if you choose to try you aren't alone. October 1st is World Vegetarian Day, kick-starting Vegetarian Awareness Month. Observed annually World Vegetarian Day was established by the North American Vegetarian Society in 1977, "To promote the joy, compassion and life enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism." With a quick glance at some of Seattle's amazing vegan and vegetarian restaurants curbing the cutlet cravings might not be as difficult as you think. Café Flora World famous (or at least well-known in Seattle) for their tasty Oazaca Tacos, Cafe Flora is a vegetarian staple for dining out. In addition to serving breakfast, lunch and dinner they also offer a terrific brunch with items such as biscuits and (vegan) gravy, heirloom tomato scramble with eggs or seasoned tofu and don't miss the Raspberry Lemon Pancakes.
