A s the leaves fall and I begin to take a breath after the busy summer rental season (and truth be told an awesome 13 day road trip) I look forward to savoring my favorite season—Autumn. The leaves changing (see page 3 for some great fall hike suggestions), crisp fall air, and with the kiddo back in school I look forward to establishing more of a routine in our household. A routine that we have just really begun to establish this past Christmas when we moved into our house. Before this purchase I was a renter for most of my life, so when I write about the challenges of making a rental a home, or the seemingly insurmountable obstacles on the road to homeownership, I speak from personal experience. You may have read lately that the market is turning after long being in strong favor toward sellers—this is true. I have seen and studied the numbers and spoken to several sales agent friends, this may indeed be the break you have been waiting for if you are in the market to purchase. However, as it seems with most big purchases there are some lurking financial items to be aware of—one of those is the rising interest rates. This will, of course increase your monthly mortgage payments. Get the inside scoop on page 13 'Rising Interest Rates'. In this issue we will also touch on World Vegetarian Day while highlighting some great vegetarian and vegan restaurants in our region, and we'll take a quick trip through Issaquah. So much to savor in this season—and this issue! Enjoy! Nicki Callahan Property Manager Windermere Property Management Nicki
