Nicki A s the daffodils and crocuses start to poke through the earth I am reminded of new beginnings. I am urged to get outdoors and explore our wonderful parks and listen to the birds and baby animals all around. In this issue we will do just that. In celebration of Earth Day (Sunday, April 22nd this year) I raise my consciousness about protecting Mother Earth and the easy ways we can all contribute to her safeguard. As our world becomes more and more disposable in terms of the materials that we use it often seems that we just can't do enough good to keep up with the destruction—but we can if we all make just a few little changes in our everyday lives. In our article 'Easy Being Green' we'll highlight a few that are simple to incorporate into your everyday lives. Mother Earth will thank you! Our article 'Seattle Parks' will introduce you to two guys who treasure our expansive park system and have taken it upon themselves to share their joy, wonder and discoveries. Follow them and learn some new spots to enjoy nature as well. And finally what would spring be without the rebirth of vegetables and babies. Learn about Audra Mulkern, a wife, mother, photographer and author educating folks about farmers and artisans in the Carnation and Duvall Farmers Markets. She then takes it one step further by illuminating the rise of female farmers to the industry. Of course we'll touch on design, real estate and rental specific how-to's as well. Just like spring this issue is packed full of color and freshness. Enjoy! Nicki Callahan Property Manager, Windermere Property Management
