B
ellevue isn't known for its year-
round park weather (although locals
don't consider the steady light drizzle a
reason to run
for cover), but
there's plenty of
indoor fun for
kids. A hands-
on, interactive
children's
museum,
KidsQuest is a great place to take the
little ones on a rainy day. By encouraging
learning through play with an emphasis
on science, technology, engineering, art
and math (STEAM) your littles will absorb
a bit of learning while playing—what's
so bad about that? Exhibits are geared
towards children birth to age eight and
their families. Offering over 650 programs
throughout the year including early
learning classes, summer camps, drop-
off and whole-family science workshops,
free art programs and many special events
including movies, concerts and holiday
programs.
The Stone Gardens indoor climbing
arena provides more than 21,000 square
feet of climbing terrain including a tilting
wall, belay and rappel ledges, a forty foot
wall, and a kids area complete with a pirate
ship. There's climbing terrain for everyone
from beginner to expert, and the gym
changes the configurations frequently so
you'll never get tired of climbing the walls.
Kelsey Creek Farm - Centrally located in
downtown Bellevue yet seemingly miles
away you'll find the quiet and secluded
Kelsey Creek Farm. Home to ponies,
sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits and water
foul, this farm dates from the 1930's and
is completely what you would image a
farm to be. White-rail fencing, beautiful
lawns and playing fields. The farm's two
historic barns sit prominently on the crest
of a hill, overlooking the shallow valleys
to each side. Farm animals are out in the
pastures or yards daily. They are available
for viewing daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,
365 days/year, including weekends and
