DIGs
Offering fun, modern furniture and trendy gifts and trinkets
Digs is definitely a must stop if you love Mid-Century design
and simplicity. Beautiful American-made furniture (with
Norwegian flare) as well as items from popular designers
like Jonathan Adler, Marimekko, Dwell etc. You will also find
fun smaller items such as cards, cutlery and baby and pet
items. This hip store is a splurge for the larger pieces but
worth it for heirloom quality.

GoLDEN GaRDENs
Golden Gardens is one of Seattle's most
popular parks and offers one of the
Northwest's most scenic beaches. The 87-
acre park in Ballard is situated on Puget
Sound, overlooking the Olympic mountains
(see map).
During the summer months, the park is
packed with beachgoers. enjoying the sun,
sand and stunning views. Kids play in a
small stream on the beach, and polls allow
volleyball players to set up their nets.
Visitors can enjoy a few trails around the
park (trail map), including a short loop on
the northern end through a wetland area.
As the sun goes down have your camera at
the ready to snap some of the most vivid
sunsets you may have ever seen.
Fires are allowed in designated pits
scattered around the beach, and picnic
shelters can be reserved in advance. There's
a beach house in the center of the park with
bathrooms. Above the park, there's an off-
leash dog area (map).
Beachcombers flock to Golden Gardens to
explore the low tides, look for crabs, sea
urchins and sea lettuce.
If being on the water is more your thing, a
boat launch is located just south of the park.
