LAKE CRESCENT
Throw on that plaid flannel shirt, grab a cozy blanket and a cup of joe and
head out for a day trip (or weekend jaunt) to one of the most picturesque
locations of the Northwest - Lake Crescent. Considered by many to be the
crown jewel of the Olympic National Park, Lake Crescent is located 3 hours
from Seattle and just 30 minutes west of Port Angeles. With waterfalls,
trails and of course that turquoise water, Lake Crescent is the scene of
endless family vacations, romantic getaways and awe-inspiring hikes.
Camping, lodging and some of the most memorable day hikes are available
in the region, making this section of the park incredibly popular.
Lake Crescent is often thought of as a tranquil, serene spot, however the
history of the region speaks of war, murder, mystery and mountain goats.
From Marymere Falls and Devil's Punchbowl to Mount Storm King and the
Spruce Railroad Trail, each step in the Lake Crescent area is steeped in
breath taking beauty and history. Plan your trip to see the sights as the
leaves turn to blazing reds and brilliant oranges and the air becomes crisp
with the season - you did pack that flannel right?
